Julie can be spotted working at Ironfish Head Office within the busy Client Care team, which helps guide our customers after purchase, through the property settlement process and beyond.

“Client Care plays a centralised role, connecting all our branch offices and customers with developers and builders. Our customers really, really rely on us. Many of our investors don’t know much about the property settlement process, and that’s where we come in; we’re here to guide them throughout the whole process.”

Staying motivated

Julie was already a property investor prior to joining Ironfish, although her husband was the main driver. After joining the Ironfish team, however, her interest in property went up a notch.

“Everybody at Ironfish is so inspiring, so motivating – this is something that I’ve felt on a daily basis, every day, since I joined Ironfish. Working within this environment and in this industry, has increased my interest in property investment, as well as my knowledge; and earlier this year I decided to buy a townhouse in Melbourne, through Ironfish. Everyone was helpful, every step of the way. And working in Client Care, I know that when it comes time to settle on the property – I won’t be stuck!”

Family security

Financial security took on real importance for Julie and her husband, after they became parents, and realised the huge financial responsibility this entails.

“As a parent, you want to provide the best for your kids – within the range of what you’re capable of or what you can afford. But how do you extend that range? That’s what I wanted to work on – and why property investment had great appeal. For example, if I want my kids to be in a really great educational environment – then I might consider private school. But private school is very expensive, so for me, property investment gives me the freedom to provide the best opportunities in life for my kids.”

Retirement at 50

Julie and her husband decided to invest in property for the long-term goal of financial security, and the freedom to retire early.

“Hopefully, I can work till about 50 rather than 70, and then I can retire, and just enjoy my life and not have to worry about financial stuff! Investing in property is going to help me reach this type of financial freedom as quickly as possible. I chose property investment because I feel like it’s a stable investment; it’s an investment I’m comfortable with. I’m confident that if I invest my money in property and hold onto it long term, then I’m sure I’ll do well.”
