New Parramatta schools set to offer innovative education

Parramatta will be home to the first 2 new schools delivered by the Government’s $1 billion Rebuilding NSW Schools Fund

The new schools are part of the Innovative Education, Successful Students plan.

Innovating Education

The $1 billion investment will transform the State’s schools over the next 10 years. The plan will provide 1,600 new or refurbished classrooms and learning spaces across NSW. The focus will be on building an innovative, future-focused educational infrastructure that will give students every chance to succeed.

Creating successful students

The plan highlights the need for students to develop problem-solving and critical thinking skills. The government will build flexible learning spaces that use innovative technologies to better support student/teacher collaboration. They are currently working with world-leading educators, designers and architects to create classrooms for the future.

Schools of the future

Public school students in Parramatta will be the first to benefit from Rebuilding NSW funding. The city will benefit from a $100 million commitment to deliver 2 new multi-storey schools, built to cater for the region’s growing population.

The $100 million investment at Parramatta will provide:

  • a new high school for up to 2,000 students on the existing Arthur Phillip High School site; and
  • a new primary school for up to 1,000 students on the existing Parramatta Public School site.

The new schools will better prepare students for a job in the fastest growing economy in the country. The learning spaces will provide more opportunities for group work and project based learning, with both indoor and outdoor recreation areas.
